I use ScienceLogic SL1 at my job at Kyndryl to provide monitoring services of IT infrastructure for clients and customer support teams.

We use SL1 predominantly for Event Monitoring and overall health in our different customer environments. One of the business problems that we addressed by using SL1's process monitoring on servers via a custom dashboard, was to identify which application was causing high CPU usage and related processes. We created a custom dashboard that combined all the pieces of the puzzle together in one window, and we could focus our attention on what needed to be done, instead of trying to log onto to each server and see what was causing the problems. Sciencelogic is used for monitoring servers, hardware, databases, storages, containers and operating systems in our enviroment. It is a all in one tool for us, however it does come with some limitations due to having a broad scope. Overall it has been a good experience using this product

We use ScienceLogic SL1 in our organization to serve effective monitoring solutions to our external customers. Our customers depend upon us for critical events/alerts related to their IT infrastructure gears and using SL1, we're able to provide them with a proactive monitoring solution that resolves an issue before an impact is noticed by the customer. There are very few monitoring solutions that can cater to a variety of Cloud platforms like Public Cloud (AWS, Azure) and private cloud simultaneously and SL1 addresses this business problem very well. Not only this, the ease with which the SL1 UI Operates is just commendable and pretty fast with zero to no latency. Being a multi-cloud company, it's important that we serve our customers with fanatical support and SL1 helps us achieve that every day.

Monitoring the environment includes Servers, Networks, Cloud, Applications, Storage, Database, and Operating system. Business problems to replace multiple monitoring tools with one solution. Scope of the tool to replace existing monitoring solutions and handling integrations with other monitoring and health check systems. Integrate with the existing ticketing system, and automate actions for resolving the issues.

ScienceLogic SL1 is a very good platform for learning. Complex tool with a lot of features, some left to be described. It seems like very capable tool, although it does have some shortfalls. of course many monitoring platforms have these, as its a difficult task to make a single product cover all bases.

We are managing ScienceLogic SL1 as a monitoring tool and Netcool.

We do monitor the IT infrastructure resources (Server, Network devices, end points etc.) of different organizations using this monitoring tool. We used it for monitor different performance and configuration details of through this tool.

ScienceLogic SL1 is used as our Primary Monitoring Platform, this system replaced out dating Nimsoft platform. the system is very flexible and can be tweaked to our needs / customer requestes for the most part.

We integrated ScienceLogic SL1 to streamline our IT operations. We used its unified monitoring for a clear view of our hybrid IT environment, automating asset discovery which saved significant manual effort. The platform's AI-driven analytics improved our incident response, dependency mapping aided in informed decision-making during migrations, and its capacity planning tools optimized our resource utilization. Overall, SL1 transformed our IT processes, making them more proactive and efficient.

ScienceLogic SL1 is easy to use, its user friendly, however it has many bugs and issues, a lot of performance issues in a lot of times you need to contact support, and its hard to master.
Support is mostly quick and helpfull which makes the things easier and they improve quality aswell by time.
We provide support to customers which then use the science logic to monitor their stuff.

I use ScienceLogic SL1 as our primary source for monitoring as an MSP. The biggest problem we face is it's not as granular as we would like it to be. Using ScienceLogic SL1, we monitor devices across different vendor equipment using SNMP, Nmap, and API.

ScienceLogic SL1 is used to fulfill many requirements. A list of them would be as follows:

Scope is 360 degrees of visibility across the enterprise.

I use ScienceLogic for monitoring purposes. As a monitoring tool, it is good, but after the recent update of SL, it has some issues as power flow takes time to sync with ServiceNow, and in Prod, it takes time to sync the Alerts, which causes multiple duplicate alerts.

ScienceLogic SL1 is used within our organization as a tool for Infrastructure monitoring.

As an MSP we required to upgrade our tooling to allow us to properly enable monitoring of a customers infrastructure and alert at the correct levels from a device to a business service impact. Without ScienceLogic SL1 we were only ever able to monitor at a device by device basis and not see the entire overall impact a device outage could have on a business service and the business as a whole. We are also extending the usage of this to start automation of some of the more basic events and alerts so that we can attempt auto remediation & resolution on simple recurring issues. ScienceLogic SL1 has also given us the ability to properly look at root causes as we have more data from the various sources and can look at the events that occurred for those high priority issues in greater depth.

We had to create test environment to see all possibilities and functionality of ScienceLogic SL1 monitoring as we have plan to migrate it from current ITM/Netcool monitoring. What is surprising is fact that ScienceLogic SL1 giving so many ways to monitor different things like Storage, DB, Cloud, OS systems itself etc. Moreover ScienceLogic SL1 is so user friendly and it's really easy to navigate between functions.It seems to be very powerful software. I would recommend ScienceLogic SL1 to all of them who are looking for really useful monitoring tool and expecting easy way of managing it.

For Monitoring

ScienceLogic SL1 is used to monitor devices across Datacom and our customers. Enabling alerts to events, ticket creation etc.

It helps to monitor all the infrastructure. Based on the conditions we write it will notify us. If we develop any dynamic applications and any customizations in any of the ScienceLogic SL1 environments we can directly export them and import them into any of the ScienceLogic SL1 environments. It enables proactive issue detection and resolution.

We use it to monitor our on prem and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). It escalates callouts to our engineers via PagerDuty and then raises a ticket in hornbill for the incident.

We use ScienceLogic SL1 for monitoring and alerting critical IT infrastructure, including cloud computing, networking, Windows and Linux servers, websites, bandwidth usage metrics, and SSL certificates. Nearly all of our IT infrastructure is supported by SL1 power packs and dynamic applications, including SNMP and API monitoring and alerting endpoints.

SL1 is being used in our organization to manage and support the proactive monitoring of Datacenter devices and applications of the National Railway of Belgium. The scope of SL1 is quite wide as our customer's inventory is spread across 3 huge datacenters (2 on-premise and 1 public cloud). We monitor more than 3000+ servers, 2000+ databases, 200+ Network devices, and 300+ applications. In TCS, we have gone beyond the Out-of-Box monitoring and built our own custom DAs and RBAs to support our customers. The best feature about the tool is its auto-discovery mechanism which has helped us to build an advanced CMDB showing the relationship between hyper-v and VMware host and guest devices and also with underlying databases. Also Sciencelogic has developed several powerpacks with third party tool like ELK, Kubernetes etc which are readily available for use. A few business problems which we have across during implementations were 1. A very limited number of reports and that too very basic and do not comply with industry best practices (like Availability reports do not have a business and not business hour feature and even does not exclude the outages during scheduled maintenance). 2. Every small customization or help required from experts is treated as PS work and PS is very costly. 3. Sciencelogic Support engineers does not support and even does provide any suggestions on issues on customized DA even if the issue is because of the built-in ScienceLogic functions are a lot of internal Dynamic Apps (Like for filesystem, services, processes, availability, etc) where there is no visibility on the logic of how alerts are configured. 4. It is not possible to put only a few metrics (like DB services) in maintenance for a certain period. The entire server has to be put in maintenance mode and due to which even the OS-related alerts get suppressed.

We mostly use ScienceLogic SL1 to monitor all kinds of Cisco Devices that are managed in the client environment. ScienceLogic SL1 helped in many ways to reduce the outages, and even if we have outages, it was notified well in advance to react to the problems. We are also using ScienceLogic SL1 for the performance and availability reports based on customer needs. This helps the customers to visualize the usage of their device.
